APPL = Analysis, Principles and Practice of teaching Language
There are many levels of skill and knowledge that combine to make an effective language teacher; three fundamental ones are
- knowledge of and ability to analyse language
- knowledge of key principles in teaching language
- an ability to realize these principles in our lessons.
This TEFL course addresses each of these, looking at grammar and vocabulary in particular, while incorporating elements of phonology and discourse. The four week, 12-hour course is made up of seminars and workshops involving language analysis and practical demonstration of techniques and activities. The aim is to share with experienced teachers what we feel is best practice when teaching language. Please note that the course is currently offered in a part-time format and therefore only suitable for Budapest-based teachers.
